Developed in 2012 as a possible replacement for the New Cordian Expeditionary Corps' aging ART-84 Badger assault rifle, the ART-184 was turned down in favor of the MBR-13. Castle Arms still produces the weapon for export and civilian use (in a semi-automatic version).

Nope. "AK-47" is a term referring to the prototype AK models, and the AK Types I-III, basically the precursors to the AKM. It doesn't refer to a specific weapon. And this weapon is based on the AK-103, itself basically a rechambered AK-74M, which is an updated and rechambered AKM.

It's been bulked up to handle more powerful loads, the barrel trunion and the manner in which it connects to the reciever are different, as is the top cover, sighting system and bolthead.
